Highest Quality Iroko Wood

Originating from Africa, Iroko timber arrives on UK shores as an attractive alternative to popular timbers such as Larch, Cedar and Cambia.

The golden brown tones have seen a surge in popularity with architects, landscape designers, and influencers alike.

Iroko is a hardwood that is incredibly durable and can be used on various building projects, making it an ideal option for fence panels.

The slatted Iroko fence panels can last 30 years plus, depending on weather conditions.

If left to age naturally, these Iroko panels will fade to a silvery grey over 12-18 months.

Contemporary Iroko Fencing

Our Iroko panels offer a premium finish that competes with our high-quality cedar and cambia alternatives.

The panels can be treated using our range of wood care products. These treatments have been designed to help preserve the natural colouring and condition of the panel for longer.

For more information about Iroko as a timber, please view our Iroko guide here.

Customer Questions

Need an answer to a question about the Panels? Check out other questions we often get asked by customers. If you cant find the answer, please click the ask your own question button below and get in touch.

What is a Modular fence panel?

Modular panels are simply smaller sections that build one on top of the other to gain the finished height, for example the 1800mm high panel comes as three smaller sections, these simply stack one on top of the other to gain the finished height of 1800mm, see our gallery pictures of our panels all these pictures are made from our modular panels.

Why choose our modular fence panels?

Coming from a background of fitting fencing for a number of years, we wanted to build a panel that was easy to install regardless of your experience, with this in mind we have designed our panels in modular sections. Modular panels are easy to handle, one person can easily install this type of fencing, although it does make things quicker with another pair of hands.

Modular panels are easier to transport, this keeps the delivery cost as low as possible and makes damage less of a risk.? Being in sections means, if any adjustments are needed to fit your area, these are also much easier than struggling with one large and heavy fence panel.

The warm, rich, mix of colours from light honey, reddish browns, to deep dark brown, these make a great backdrop for planting and offer more than just a boundary line, the panels become a feature of the garden or area they are being used in. Our Western red cedar is very high quality, exceptionally durable, lightweight and easy to work with, making it the timber of choice for both looks and lifespan. Western red cedar contains natural protective oil that helps resist rot and decay, meaning no further chemical treatment is needed. Cedar can be left to weather over time to a silver-grey colour or to keep the warm rich tones, simply apply a clear oil containing a UV protector, these are readily available online. Our cedar is also sourced from well managed, sustainable forests and has FSC/PEFC Certification.

Weathering & Treatment Like all timber Western Red Cedar will weather if left.

What is weathering?

All timber when exposed to UV rays and the elements will weather, this is a process where the timber will turn a silvery grey over time, the time this effect can take varies depending on direct sunlight, exposure to moisture and the type of timber.

The weathered effect is preferred by a large number of our clients and in the right situation can look fantastic, giving an almost driftwood effect, however, it can take time for this process to occur and while doing so the weathering effect can look a little uneven or patchy, to help this process there are products on the market that will help speed up the process and give an even weathering effect, Sioox wood Impregnation is one such brand.

Help prevent my wood from weathering If you prefer to keep the look of the timber when new, then treating the timber with a UV protection oil will help prevent the sun and elements from turning it to a silver-grey over time Benefits of treating your timber with a UV protection oil include, long-lasting protection against weathering, enhances the natural look, colour and grain of the timber, gives a consistent finish.

Osmo UV Stabilising Oil Extra is one brand that will help prevent weathering.

How long does Iroko last?

Iroko has a lifespan of 30 years which can be extended if maintained on a regular basis. The impressive natural resistance to insect damage, bacteria, weathering and rotting will ensure all customers receive a sound investment.
