Installing our range of fence panels may sound tricky, but it can be done quickly and easily with the right tools and guidance. Our step-by-step instructions provide simple guidance that will allow your fence panels to be ready to enjoy in a short amount of time.
The panels (900mm in height upwards) will arrive in modular sections. This will allow each section to sit on top of the other until the desired height is met, making installation extremely easy.
In this guide, we will document how to install a slatted panel in various ways; onto pre-installed fence posts, between pillars, onto brick walls using our wall posts and between concrete posts.
Installing our modular fence panels onto existing, or new posts is straightforward.
While specific measurements and spacing may vary, the steps below will guide you through attaching your panels securely to the posts.
This guide is based on the posts installed at the appropriate spacing for your chosen panel width.
Organise your panels before you start:
If you have ordered panels over 900mm in height, these will arrive in modular sections, usually two pieces, one top and one bottom. Your panels come labelled as such; however, if a label is missing, the sections can be easily identified as the top has a fitted capping strip.
For example, if you have ordered 3x qty 1800mm wide x 1800mm high, you will receive 3x qty tops with (capping strip already fitted) and 3x qty bottoms (no capping strip). Organising your panels in the order you will install them will make the job much easier.
Position the Fence Panel:
Place your fence panel against the face of the post, ensuring it is perfectly aligned. Use a spirit level to ensure the panel is level.
Pre-drill pilot holes:
Pre-drill pilot holes into the vertical uprights using a small drill bit that matches the size of the screws. This step helps prevent any potential splitting or damage to the panel.
Choose the Right Fixings:
Opt for stainless steel fixings, such as our small head screws, for their durability and resistance to rust. These high-quality fixings ensure a secure attachment for your fence panel.
Attaching the panel:
Insert the first screw into one of the pre-drilled holes. Be cautious not to overtighten it, as this can lead to splitting of the vertical support. Strike a balance by ensuring the screw is adequately tightened without exerting excessive force. Repeat this process, approx. 3-4 screws spaced evenly on each side will be more than adequate.
Please see our downloadable pdf guide, or our short video, both of these show in detail the installation process and how easy it is to install your panels.
