Thermally Modified Ayous 44mm x 17mm slats are planed on all four sides with slightly eased corners for a premium finish.  Ayous is a high-quality African hard wood that has been Thermally Modified to enhance the stability of the timber making it extremely durable.

Planed smooth on all 4 sides with a premium finish with eased/slightly rounded corners, which gives a far superior look when compared to a standard square finish and also has the practical application of not holding water when compared to square finished slats.

High-Quality A – Grade timber with the technical grade being number 2 or better with 15% of number 4, when shopping around other suppliers check if this is theirs is the same high grade so you can compare price and quality, home grown may sound great but unfortunately this does not compare to the Canadian quality.

Our slats are 44mm x 17mm so a little wider than the 38mm most other companies advertise, why does this matter? It would mean you need less of them when using the typical spacing of 6, 10, or 12mm which tends to be what most people go for and less slats needed means lower cost overall.
