FSC-certified – Responsibly sourced European redwood

Why Choose These Over Standard Fence Boards?

  • Thinner profile – Clean, contemporary look for modern garden design
  • Smoother finish – Easy to stain, oil, or paint for a custom finish
  • Better stability – Slim, uniform sections resist warping and cupping

Pressure Treatment: Why It Matters

“It’s not just dipped—it’s vacuum-sealed with preservatives.”

Also known as tanalised timber, pressure-treated wood is far more durable than basic dipped or sprayed timber.

  • Vacuum-pressure process forces preservatives deep into the timber
  • Protects against rot, insects, and fungal decay
  • Top-coated for extra weather resistance

Pro Tip: Extend lifespan further with Armourflex UV Oil to prevent greying.

44mm Pressure Treated Slat FAQ’s

Are pressure-treated slats sustainably sourced?

Yes, all of the pressure-treated (tanalised) products within our portfolio have been ethically sourced from forests carrying the FSC certification.

Find out more about the FSC here.

What fixings are best used with Pressure Treated Timber?

We always recommend using stainless steel fixings such as screws and nails. Stainless steel will not react with the wood, cause any unsightly staining, or contribute to any chemical reactions.

Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes, our tanalised slats are available for delivery across the whole of the UK. Please note that the 2700mm up to 4800mm lengths are collected only from our warehouse.

Will pressure-treated timber rot?

The pressure treatment process of our tanalised product range ensures that the timber will easily last between ten to fifteen years, longer if treated regularly.

Find out more about pressure-treated timber here.

Some of my slats have a slight bow, can I swap them?

The short answer is no!

Trees grow in whatever direction they choose and as much as it’s usually upwards, they tend to go at slight angles

Wood is a natural product, and sometimes you get a few slats that are not as straight as an arrow; however, when fixed at the proper intervals, any bowing is easily resolved.

We would recommend a vertical support every 600-700mm.

We would always recommend ordering a few extra slats, just in case you can’t get one of these slats to line up just how you want it, or it has a natural defect such as a knot.

We cannot replace slats for natural defects, or because they are not being installed correctly.

Should I order the exact number for my project?

Wood is natural, and as much as we machine and plane the slats to a certain size and profile, you will occasionally get the odd slat with some form of natural defect.

This could be a knot or multiple knots in the timber.

The grain may look different to other slats.

It may have a slight bend or bow.

Or you may not like the shade of that one slat compared to the others.

Then you have the human factor, cut one to the wrong size, one splits when you nail or screw it into position, and the job comes to a halt.

You now need to reorder additional slats and pay additional postage, and we may not be able to deliver them for 3-5 days.

This is why any timber supplier will always recommend ordering additional material. This is usually 5-10% more than you have calculated.

How thin are these slats?

44mm wide x 17mm thick — slimmer than standard fence boards for a contemporary look.

Can I use these for horizontal fencing?

Yes! Their uniform thickness prevents warping. Space 6–12mm apart for airflow.

Why choose pressure-treated over cedar?

Cost. These slats deliver 10+ years of service at half the price of cedar.

Do they arrive pre-drilled?

No — design your own layout for custom projects.
