Douglas Fir Narrow Slat
High-Quality 44mm Douglas Fir
Our collection of 44mm Douglas Fir Slats provides customers with a range of benefits due to the timber’s stylish, durable, and versatile nature.
Douglas Fir has the same excellent properties of Siberian larch, making this timber an excellent alternative. Douglas Fir has a beautiful grain, sandy and pink tones in colour.
Even though Douglas Fir is a softwood, the timber is very hard-wearing and will easily withstand the British weather for years to come, with the timber, on average, lasting 20 years plus.
The standard fir fencing slats are 44mm and come in three lengths; 6ft (1.8m), 7ft (2.1m) and 8ft (2.44m).
Like most of the products within our collection, our Douglas Fir timber is sustainably sourced from forests carrying the PEFC certification.
Highest Quality Douglas Fir
Douglas Fir has many impressive benefits due to the hard-wearing properties, which is why this timber is so popular with builders, architects, landscape gardeners and more.
Although Douglas Fir is a softwood, it has many natural benefits that make it the perfect timber for most projects; it will not rot, has exceptional water resistance, is safe from insect damage, and requires no maintenance.
Standard Douglas Fir Slats
The 44mm Fir slats come with slightly rounded corners providing all customers with a premium finish similar to that of our cedar, Iroko, and Cambia alternatives.
We strongly urge customers to use stainless steel fixings to avoid any reactions within the timber, which could lead to potential staining and unsightly damage.

My slats are all slightly different lengths?
- This is quite common when buying timber sourced from outside the UK, our Douglas Fir is sold in lengths of 6ft to 8ft not the metric sizes of 1.8m, 2.1m, 2.4m etc, America uses the imperial measuring system, as oppose to the metric system, so your slats will arrive approximately 6ft, 7ft, or 8ft etc, it may even be slightly longer. Slightly longer is something that is required to create a clean cut on each end, this way your slats but up to each other with no uneven cuts.
