Siberian Larch Cladding FAQs

Why Choose Our Larch Cladding Profiles?

We have strict criteria when it comes to stocking Siberian Larch timbers. Firstly, the timber must be of the highest quality so as to ensure all customers receive a sound investment. As a result, all of the Larch cladding boards are unsorted (also known as a grade A larch).

Grade A is the highest quality of Larch available, is a clearer timber, and has a lesser quantity of knots.

All of our timbers are ethically sourced from FSC certified forests. This ensures that our timbers meet the highest environmental and social standards.

As a material, Larch is a robust and durable product that has withstood climates in some of the harshest and coldest regions in the world. For more information on Larch please read our Larch guide here.

Our Siberian Larch collection provides a cheaper alternative to our Cedar Cladding boards.

Is Larch a Good Timber for Cladding?

Yes. Larch is an incredibly strong, durable, and stylish timber that has a natural resistance to weathering, bacteria, rotting, and insect damage.

The clean tones are also a favourite with lovers of modern design.

Larch is also a favorite with architects and landscape designers due to its stunning clean tones and impressive lifespan.

An average larch cladding board will last 15 – 20 years if left untreated and 20 30 years if treated.

Does Larch Cladding Require any Treatment?

Siberian Larch grows in some of the harshest weather conditions on the planet making it one of the most durable and robust of timbers. This means that untreated Larch can easily last 15 20 years with no treatment.

Should you wish to treat the timber with a wood protection oil then customers can expect an additional 5 – 10 years.

Is Larch an Expensive Timber?<

The high-quality unsorted grade A larch is a premium product with a mid-high range pricing. Larch is often cheaper than Cedar but more expensive than pressure-treated/tanalised options.
