Our range of Douglas Fir 94mm Wide Slats are stylish, durable, and versatile, providing several benefits for our customers.
This timber has a similar appearance to our Siberian larch, with its prominent grain, sandy tones, but with a pink undertone. It can be an excellent alternative for internal and external applications.
Despite belonging to the softwood category, Douglas Fir timber is highly durable and can withstand British weather for many years. Typically, this type of timber lasts for more than 20 years.
The standard fir slats are 94mm wide x 17mm and come in four lengths; 6ft (1.8m), 7ft (2.1m) and 8ft (2.44m).

Our Douglas Fir timber comes from forests certified by PEFC as sustainable, just like many other timbers we stock at Slatted Screen Fencing.

Even though Douglas Fir is a softwood, the timber is very hard-wearing and will easily withstand the British weather for years to come, with the timber, on average, lasting 20 years plus.

Is Douglas Fir low maintenance?
Douglas Fir does not require any maintenance thanks to the hard-wearing properties of the timber. We do advise customers to treat with a UV oil or some form of wood care treatment to help preserve colouring and longevity.
