Our A Grade Western Red Cedar fence posts are planed on all four sides for a smooth, attractive finish. The warm tones and natural grain make them a great match for cedar fence panels, gates and slats, while their clean appearance also suits pergolas and other garden structures where the posts will remain on show.
As a natural timber, each post has its own character and colour variation. Left untreated, Western Red Cedar will gradually weather to a soft silver-grey.

Canadian Western Red Cedar Posts
These 90 × 90mm A Grade Western Red Cedar posts provide a matching finish for our cedar fencing range. They are available in 2.4m and 3m lengths and planed on all four sides, making them suitable for positions where the post will be seen as part of the finished design.
Use them to support cedar fence panels and gates, or as posts for fixing individual slats. Their appearance also makes them a good choice for pergolas and other garden structures where you want the timber to remain visible.
What to expect from A Grade cedar
A Grade offers a cleaner appearance than the knotty grade we previously stocked, but it is still natural timber. Grain, colour and occasional knots will vary between posts. Cedar’s warm colour can be maintained with a suitable exterior finish and regular upkeep; if left untreated, it will gradually weather to silver-grey.
For a consistent finish, we recommend stainless steel fixings when working with cedar.
