Roofing and Gutter System
The timber Bike Shed features a sloping roof covered with durable felt material. Additionally, the store is equipped with a gutter system located at the rear of the shed, this feature allows rainwater to be efficiently drained away from the rear of the store.
Secure and Convenient Features
Each store is equipped with an internal steel pole designed to lock your bikes or other garden equipment securely. The key lock system allows you to lock with a key, a better security than a traditional pad lock, which comes additional spare keys.

Do the bike stores require maintenance?
Our timber bike stores generally require some maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal condition. However, there are differences in the maintenance requirements for each type of timber.
Canadian Cedar:?Cedar is naturally resistant to decay and insect damage, making it a popular choice for outdoor structures. Over time, cedar can develop a silvery-grey patina if left untreated, which is purely aesthetic and does not affect its structural integrity. You can apply a protective finish or stain periodically to maintain its natural colour. Regular cleaning to remove dirt and debris is also recommended.
Douglas Fir:?Douglas Fir is a durable timber but is not as naturally resistant to decay and insect damage as cedar. It requires a little more maintenance to ensure its longevity. Regular treatment with wood care products is necessary to protect Douglas Fir. This helps prevent moisture absorption, rotting, and insect infestation.?
Pressure Treated:?Pressure-treated timber, also known as tanalised timber, has a much shorter lifespan than Cedar and Douglas Fir. We recommend treating tanalised timbers with wood care products such as ArmourFlex protection oil.
Cleaning the surface and reapplying a protective coating or sealant every few years can help maintain its appearance and ensure long-term protection.
Can I assemble the bike shed, or do I need professional assistance?
Our timber bike sheds are designed for easy assembly and come labelled to guide you so you know which section goes where. You can assemble the shed with basic tools and some assistance, as certain steps may require two people.
Is the timber bike shed weatherproof?
Slatted options have a 6mm gap between the slats, so a cladding option would offer much better protection from the elements.
We can offer an additional bespoke option to line the store with marine plywood and then add the slats over this; please get in touch with our team should this interest you.
Are the bike sheds secure?
The bike sheds are designed with security in mind. Each shed comes with an internal steel pole that allows you to lock your bikes securely. The key lock system adds a layer of protection, and we provide additional spare keys for your convenience.
